Christine Kelley has been at BLS since 2005 teaching Spanish, Program Director for Modern Foreign Languages since 2013, and has been a teacher since 1990. She earned a BA in Spanish from Providence College in 1990 and spent junior year in Salamanca, Spain. In 1994 she earned an MEd in middle school education and moderate special needs from Lesley University, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain in 2006. Ms. Kelley is at least the fourth generation in her family to be a teacher (mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt…). It's genetic--her grandmother was a French teacher, and her grandmother’s brother was a German and Latin teacher at BLS in the 1920s. When not at BLS, Ms. Kelley hangs out in Chelsea with her husband Chris and his fleet of fire trucks, cats O’Malley and Mookie, and always has her passport ready for an opportunity to travel. She enjoys all things related to Spain and Ireland, reading, amateur photography, cooking and being crafty.
